Studio 101
Students will work on their choice of medium (watercolors, acrylic painting, charcoals, oil pastels, etc.) as
they learn important two-dimensional design skills. This class is for those who are serious about art and
the process of making good art. We will use a host of things for inspiration including still-lifes, photos and
art history. Lessons will cover color theory (for those working in color), value scales, creating rhythms,
balance, and aerial perspective - to name a few. This sounds so serious, yet we always have fun and
students forge new friendships! Best for ages 9-teens
